Radik Shaimiev is a Russian entrepreneur who has a net worth of $1.1 billion. A newly-listed billionaire, Radik Shaimiev is co-owner of the TAIF Group, a giant regional holding company with assets in the Republic of Tatarstan. The company's capital includes two gas station chains, some chemical factories, oil refineries and power plants, as well as construction companies.
It was throughout the 1990's (during Russia's privatization), that TAIF acquired stakes in most of its companies. The son of Tatarstan's first president, Mintimer Shaimiev, Radik derives most of his fortune from the TAIF Group. Business aside, Radik Shaimiev is an avid race car driver who won the 2003 European competition called Autocross.
