Hank Parker won the Bassmaster Classic which is the biggest event in the sport in 1979 and 1989, making him one of only four people to win the event more than once. Parker was the first angler to win the Grand Slam on competitive bass fishing which is made up of the Bassmaster Classic, B.A.S.S. SuperBass Tournament, and B.A.S.S. Angler of the Year.

Since 1985 he has hosted Hank Parker's Outdoor Magazine which airs on the Outdoor Channel. His sons Hank Parker Jr. and Billy Parker have both driven in the NASCAR Busch Series. Hank Parker has been inducted into the Bass Fishing Hall of fame as well as the International Game Fish Association Hall of Fame and the Legends of the Outdoors Hall of Fame. He has had deals with companies such as Ranger Boats and Mercury Marine.
